Licensing

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas requires licensing for all domestic animals over the age of six months. Proof from your veterinarian of spaying/neutering and current rabies vaccination are required at the time of application.

Your pets are part of your family and members of our community. We appreciate your compliance with the registration requirements.

Signing up is a two-step process, and we're here to help you out. Just follow the steps we’ve laid out, and we’ll make sure it all goes smoothly.

Step 1.Decide the type of license you need.

There are three licensing options.

1 year - $10
5 years - $45
10 years - $85

Step 2.Gather Documents

Having these documents ready for upload will make the application process go faster.

Step 3.Let's Register

Once you have completed the document upload you can access the registration platform and complete the process.

Now that you have everything here is what you need to know before your visit us.

Business Hours : Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm CST
No need to bring the animal with you. We love to see our animal residents, but a visit to the shelter can be difficult to them. You can leave them at home.
Bring payment with you.
Make sure to visit during business hours.

Payments accepted: cash, checks and credit/debit cards.
