LGBTQ+ Committee

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is committed to ensuring that all members of the community are treated fairly, equally and with dignity. Because that commitment extends to the LGBTQ+ community, both within our department and in our neighborhoods, we have established a committee of both sworn officers and professional (civilian) staff who serve as liaisons to the LGBTQ+ community of Kansas City, Kansas.

These liaisons serve to foster a positive relationship between the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department and the LGBTQ+ community by:

• acting as points of contact for members of the LGBTQ+ community and officers who interact with the LGBTQ community
• developing and providing training to members of the department on LGBTQ+ related topics
• providing information on relevant law enforcement issues as they relate to the LGBTQ+ community
• representing the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department at LGBTQ+ community events
