
Welcome to the Community and Support Services Division of the Police Department. As you enter our web site you will discover that the units operating within this division are responsible for some of most diverse and challenging aspects of law enforcement today. Narcotic enforcement, tactical response, community policing and traffic enforcement represent just a few of the functions assigned to the units of this division.
The Police Department recognizes that it will take the collective input, talents and efforts of citizens, local authorities, business, social groups, government and indeed every individual to help prevent crime and reduce incidents of anti-social behavior. Mission Statement
Our primary mission, in everything we do, is to protect life, property, and improve the quality of life in the community. With the advent of the Twenty-first Century, the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is prepared and committed to provide our citizens with the highest standards of safety, security and service, while continually striving to improve the overall quality of life in the community. The Police Department recognizes that it will take the collective input, talents and efforts of citizens, local authorities, business, social groups, government and indeed every individual to help prevent crime and reduce incidents of anti-social behavior. Effective policing in Year 2001 and beyond will rely on a collaborative effort between the police and the community utilizing all available resources in a perpetual quest to systematically solve problems. Community policing offers a way for law enforcement to help re-energize our community and develop strong, self-sufficient neighborhoods that create an atmosphere in which serious crime cannot flourish.
Our Vision
