Night Unit
The Night Unit, commonly referred to as the Response Unit, is assigned the responsibility of responding to and providing for the initial investigation into all felony crimes reported to the Department between the hours of 1700-0800. They will respond to any serious crime scene for the purpose of determining if the severity of the crime and circumstances precipitating the crime dictate the need for additional specialized Department Units. If said manpower is needed, the Night Unit will provide for notification of the appropriate units or personnel. At other times the unit is charged with proactively working felony street crimes and aggressively pursuing wanted felons or parole violators.
