Executive Officer to the Chief of Police

testLt. Col Kevin Steele is the Executive Officer to the Chief of Police and is the Administrator of the Chief's Bureau which reports directly to the Chief of Police.  The Executive Officer ensures that the Department is operated in an efficient, accountable, and responsible manner.  The Executive Officer is responsible for providing departmental leadership of emerging trends and issues for the purpose of supporting Department goals and objectives.  Lt. Col Steele prepares special reports and work plans as well as addressing and handling community concerns.  He manages federal grants and budgetary consideration for the police department.  Lt. Col Steele is responsible for the coordination of the Chief's agenda by managing functions of the Executive Office through subordinate units. The Executive Officer to the Chief of Police has direct oversight of the following Units:                                                   

  • Professional Standards                                                        
  • Internal Investigations
  • Community Affairs
  • Training Academy
